I was impressed by the new features in Genius Project last month. Christophe Borlat is the General Manager of Genius Inside. I wanted to learn more about how the software works in Microsoft Project.
There are many project management tools available today, but what makes Genius Project unique?
Genius Project is the only project management program that has a Gantt Chart and can compete with Microsoft Project. Its user interface is very user-friendly and can easily be customized according to the roles of project manager, user, or administrator. It offers more features than any other project management program, including advanced workflow management, risk management and matrix planning. Genius Project is built on more than 10 years of project management software design experience.
Who are your target customers
Genius Project is a mid-market enterprise. Although we offer a cross-industry solution to our customers, most of them are from the manufacturing and IT industries.
Are you seeing companies move towards your Microsoft Project software? What do you think the reason is?
Yes, many of our customers use Genius Planner instead of Microsoft Project. Genius Planner is included in our solution, which saves money and makes it easier to use.
What direction do you see project management technology going?
There will be more SaaS offerings in the future, as there has been a significant increase in the number of SaaS offers over the past two years.
Does Genius Project include collaboration features?
It allows for automatic distribution of documents, tasks, and to-do [lists] It also has a central document management system that allows all information to be stored in one place and is accessible by all members of the project team. Access rights protect data confidentiality.
Why did you feel it was necessary for bi-directionality to be included with MS Project
MS Project is the industry standard for project scheduling. It was crucial that users could continue to use it while we added a real collaboration platform with our solution.
What are the main differences in the SMB and standard editions?
The SMB solution is limited in functionality and can be used for basic project management requirements. Integration with Microsoft Project, Timesheet module, and workflow management is optional. The majority of our SaaS customers choose the SMB edition.
Thanks, Christophe!
