Amazon Web Services (AWS), announced this week that a new storage capability is available to consulting partners who are enrolled in its AWS Partner Network.
The AWS Storage Competency for Consulting Partners was created “to help customers find APN Consulting Partners with a strong understanding AWS architectural best practice, possess deep AWS expertise and are able to deliver storage solution together with APN Technology Partners,” stated Kate Miller, senior content manager for APN in a blog post on Wednesday.
Three years after AWS launched it for its APN technology partners, the launch of the storage competence for consulting partners is a significant milestone.
Miller said that the competency is awarded to consulting partners who “possess deep domain expertise and consulting experience to help enterprises adopt, deploy and manage complex storage solutions in one of several core storage categories including Backup & Recovery Primary Storage Archive or Business Continuance/Disaster Recovery(BCDR)”. These APN Partners have successfully implemented storage solutions and projects on AWS and are familiar with existing AWS Storage Competency Tech Partner solutions.
This checklist is available to validate the competency of partners interested in gaining storage competence. You must be a member of APN Consulting Partner and have demonstrated proficiency in AWS storage projects deployment.
AWS launched the new competency with seven launch partner: REAN Cloud and Infiniti Consulting Group; Proact IT UK; HCL Technologies; HCL Technologies; Ahead, CorpInfo Services, and Datapipe.
David Lucky, Datapipe’s director for product management, stated that they are committed to continuing to build upon our strong relationship and partnership with AWS. This relationship has been in place since 2010 when we launched managed services for AWS. “Being the first APN partner to attain AWS Storage Competency status is a testament of our long track record of protecting mission-critical information for our customers and ensuring their continued success with AWS Cloud.”
